I want to reprogram my CCC with Winkfp but I do not want to take the chance of doing it via an OBD connection. Does anyone know if I can use Winkfp with an OPS connector but through the Optical drive rather than OBD? If it is possible a "how to" would be most appreciated.

I must always ask the hardest questions because each time I ask a question I get the same response, "no response," despite 30 views. I just find it disingenous that no one here has any idea what I am talking about.

All those 30 viewers/readers have no idea what you are asking for...

I'd suggest posting the question to the folks at BMW Coding. While many here code, far fewer use an OPS head to do so. While I'm contemplating the purchase of one of the myriad Chinese-made units out there, I've seen discussions on them at BMW Coding. Good luck.

You have to modify EDIABAS.ini to optical connection.

I posted it there but it is so slow over there. If you do go for one of the clones, go for ISTA/ICOM. This OPS/Progman (V41) has been useless for me so far. Too tedious, it wants to update everything and stops if you don't replace modules it suggests, modules that have been working without faults. Won't let you just update one module. I was able to accomplish more with the BMW standard tools. The only good part has been DIS.

There's another site too - WWW.BMWCODERS.COM I saw THIS THREAD which seems relevant.
