Irritating sound from front left side
So,
I had a little headache today so I planned not to play music while on my way to the office.
As usual the car started smoothly but as soon as I accelerate it, it started giving me an irritating sound.
Let me say that loud, that is not related to engine issues at all. It comes from the front left side kinda from the air vent (It's not broken).
Also if you are on a very smooth road, you wont listen that sound. It only comes when you are not on a very smooth road/freeway.
Let me describe the sound. Imagine someone put a penny in a plastic bottle and put that bottle on vibration (idk how you would do that) but yeah, thats the sound that I heard all the way. Its is not extremly loud but I want it to go away.
Any help is appreciated!

Sounds like something is loose, maybe one edge of your bottom engine cover. I would get the car up on ramps or jack stands and take a look.

I love this forum. yes, take it to dealer for a sound issue! I mean you're the one that just called them the "stealership" right? How can they steal if you're giving away. That doesn't make sense.

Hi
Could clearly sound like your cluster "rubbing" against the dashboard ( common problem ) , lossen the 2 torx screews up under , take/pull out the cluster , put in some kit ( just a litte pice ) at each lower corner , mount back the cluster and you are set , no more "rubbing" = no more irritating noice :-)
Regards

Is it coming from the inside or outside of car? You said air vent, so I'm assuming inside. If so, you need to disassemble the dash and start looking around, I guess.
If outside the cabin - Does it fluctuate with speed at all? Is there anything that makes it stop (braking, etc.)?

Hi JonasB
If it comes form the passenger side your problem is not from the cluster ( speedometer ) "rubbing" ( gnider ) against the dashboard , but proberly the glovecompartment hatch etc.

Common areas of noise or vibration are the buttons on the steering wheel (keep your hand on them while driving and see if the noise disappears) and the sunroof (sounds like bottles of wine hitting each other). The dash may also squeak... Grab a passenger and start to isolate and rule out certain things.

Thanks jaycal3. Yes, steering wheel buttons on the right side were the culprits. Now the question is, what to do with them?
Open up the steering wheel and install new? (no)
But why they got loose in the first place? trying to understand the concept here. they still look new.
Thanks
