Useless options
The most useless option by far IMHO is the daft sliding armrest that costs about ?110 on its own or is included with BT. I love the naff way the handbrake when applied almost closes it. Personally I would rather have extra strorage space.

Is the 2005 model different, in that you can completely turn off PDC in idrive? In my 2004, I can turn off the visual car image in idrive, but the BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP still sounds unless you hit the PDC button.
iDrive only turns off the display. The PDC button turns it completely off until you start the car again.

heated steering wheel is probably the most-useless option on there.

I agree with Iceman (!!! ;-) ) - TV - I use it so rarely. Not never, but once every couple of months... and then just to find out if I have a decent signal!
Hmmm...good question! I've pressed the button while in reverse and it turned PDC completely off, but can't remember if I put the car in reverse again before turning it off.
