Has anyone taken delivery in the past week or so of a UK car with pro-nav option, I am wondering if the voice control has been deleted as per some earlier posts and if it has, have they left the voice button (next to the menu button) for software upgrading later to activate voice control.

My E60 was produced in week 7, and I have the Voice recognition button, but it doesn't work. Maybe a software Q. ?

Don't worry too much if there's no voice button next to the menu. The voice button on the steering wheel is retained. The dealer told me that when voice is available, it will become a chargeable item, no longer included with Pro Nav.

He wasn't 100% on wether it could be retrofitted though. (I suspect it proabably can)

I think you and I ordered it when it was meant to be included within the professional sat/nav option and price. I will not pay for it in September and I expect it fitted for free.

 

Latest news from my dealer (for what it's worth..), voice recognition for cars with Pro nav will be in the v12 software release.

It's my understanding that US Nav is the same as UK ProNav. However, I thought US customers w/Nav had voice recognition working already. What gives? Thanks.

Sam, our version apparently has "language recognition" issues, i.e. it can't understand us , so they pulled it just prior to launch.
