Hi guys, My first post since getting the car.........

Can anyone recommend a Chip / Tuning box for the Diesels?
I did a quick google, and liked the look of http://www.bhpplus.co.uk/pages.php?type=+5...24&make=BMW , but would be interested if anyone's used them or any other company?
It's just my personal opinion, but I can highly recommend tuningbox.com; the box they do packs a real punch, and also it's totally portable, I've transferred my box between 3 different cars over the years. So the advantage is you only have to make the cash outlay once. Expect to pay about ?350 to ?400.

I bought one of these. Only done around 2k with it but well impressed.

I have tested my last few cars on a stretch of road below are my findings.

Test is. Start 50mph floor it up a steep hill then onto the flat where the tar changes so you feel a big bump. Not very scientific I know but I do it several times and take the average

E39 530d Remapped just under 100mph 240bhp
E39 M5 Remapped 118mph 420bhp
E60 535d Standard 110mph 272bhp
E60 535d with Abried 116mph 300bhp ?????

For the money you can't knock that figures

hi lee, i get about 40mpg also...........the american guys cant beleive this as they all have gas guzzlers (no E60 diesels over the pond)
and mine has been re-mapped so it over fuels a little (502lb/ft torque)
Hi all - I've got a 530d m sport (auto) - currently only getting 28mpg - Driving up from Kent at the beginning of the month when I bought it - I got 37 average mpg.
Its having a service tomorrow - so hopefully it'll improve.
Any suggestions on where to get it remapped? Will this improve the consumption.

the proof is always in the pudding.

jason at B&W in houndslow london, runs a bmw x5 at santa pod drag strip and does the quarter mile in under 11 seconds...in a x5..
tuned by himself...and he did mine ?350 gets you loads more torque and more mpg...for diesels its the place to go.
plus its always nice to spend your cash with a genuine nice guy.

Has anyone had issues with the Prof. radio when travelling far away from their local area? I had a long list of stations in the "All Stations", but since I travelled to the UK, that menu option is now unavailable. I'm unable to scan and populate the All Stations list. It's greyed out. I also don't get any TMC info appear on routes. Something weird's going on. I thought FM was FM and it made no difference which european country you were in. I know that not all european countries have TMC, but I thought UK did (like Germany does). Weirdest thing is not being able to do an auto-scan though.

Well, at least it's not something dumb and obvious I never considered

I'll ask BMW about it when I see about s/w upgrade + mp3 when I go tomorrow (unless it snows like crazy tonight like they're saying it might).
