Hi folks
Now on my second BMW - moved up from a 330d to current moddified 535d.
I'm based in Oxfordshire.

Nice to see so many dedicated e60-ers here, and BMWland.
Safe driving & happy modding!

I'm also in the Machester region. What replacement rear tyres did you go with & how much (if you don't mind me asking)?
Hi there,
I've got the same wheels as yourself, got some Continental Sport Contact 2's (275/30/19 - 96Y) for ?440 fitted. That was through a mate of mine that has a tyre place though lol. I checked online at several places though and www.event-tyres.co.uk were doing the same tyres for about ?460 fitted. (They come to your house/office and do everything on site).
I went for the Sport Contact 2 rather than the 3's, because that's what was fitted before and they seemed to be ok (and slightly cheaper).

Hope that helps!

Hi all, this is Dave from Birmingham, I had 5 series in the past but am looking for a 535d to buy, great to see all the UK guys here. I have nothing against yanks, I lived there for three years but really it is a different language/approach to cars.

hi lee, i get about 40mpg also...........the american guys cant beleive this as they all have gas guzzlers (no E60 diesels over the pond)
and mine has been re-mapped so it over fuels a little (502lb/ft torque)

i have just put on the boot finisher, and the next mod is a custom exhaust pipe in stainless steel (last a lifetime) with large twin oblong tail pipes (not boy racer type, but slightly larger than standard twin ones)

my car came from BMW park lane, i bought if from a collegue, who had it from new, it is a silver gray 530d auto 2004 (dec)
it was a very low speced car, having cloth interior, no nav, no multi changer etc.

i have owned it for 2 months now and have done the following.

1 full 20 way raven leather electric heated seats (from a 07 M5)
2 full voice proffesional navigation
3 i pod interface
4 LCI rear light retrofit
5 upgraded angel eye (bright white)
6 changed the run flats for pirelli P zero's (255x40x18)
7 chrome pack
8 auto changer
9 full re-map by B&W in london (mega happy 502 lb/ft torque)
10 M5 SMG paddle shift steering wheel (now tiptronic instead of steptronic)
11 sprint booster
12 biometric engine start (finger print recognition)
13 personalised number plate
14 25% window tint all round
15...in the process of adding head-up-display.

not bad for 8 weeks

if ive missed anything let me know and ill bung it on
Hi there Doc. I also have a Dec 2004 build car and am considering changing tail lights to LCI. I was told that the retrofit cables would not fit onto a Dec 04 build, as it was too early a model year.
Can I ask where you got your cables, and whether it was pure plug and play ?

Cheers.

got mine from bruce on this forum, they worked perfectly, are great quality, with no issues, they are pure plug and play as long as you buy the correct (oem) rear LCI lights
they look superb and transform the rear of your car

pm bruce miranda for a great deal

Any Tips? Have a problem with my 05 530d at the moment. I got it remapped approx 6 months ago, on the rolling road it was 263bhp / 420lbft from the standard 218.
Recently ive noticed a shuddering through the car when accelerating hard in 5th/6th when overtaking.
Have been in touch the the company who remapped it and am going to see them next week.
What exactly should i be telling them to do?
Remove the map completely? Adjust it?
Dont want to cause anymore damage to the flywheel / clutch but to be honest i dont want to lose the extra power.
