Hi people,

I'm in.................................Portsmouth way. Currently drive an 02 530i auto until this time next week when hopefully it will be a fairly high specced E61 530d auto in Sappire black with beige leather.

Picked up so much info on E60's already. I am by the way a longstanding BMWLand member as well , so hi to you all on here.

they're nice. I just got mine delivered yesterday, but haven't had a chance to fit them yet, my car is still covered in snow.
Did you need to take the whole headlight unit out? any error message pops up?
You don't really need to take the lights out but things will get very difficult if you don't. Taking the clusters out will give you much easier access to the back of the unit. No error messages at all...just plug and play

Well im having some warranty work done on my gearbox leak i think and sytner say the software upgrade is ?150.00 usually - but im getting it done for under ?100. well let you guys know when its done and if i notice any changes to the idrive - maybe they will fix the right click on the nav selection issue too - but ive only booked the car in for one day 9am - 5pm collection to do all that and a alternat belt replacement and air con belt replacement.
Might email the seervice advisor to see if he can get my feb 04 bluetooth - as i have no overhead mic and dont think i have a ULF either

I agree, the leic sytner is crap. Last time I had some minor warranty work done, it took me 4 visits to the dealer to get it fixed.
How long did coventry quote you to have the software update? I had mine done the other day at leic, it took 8 hrs, does it really take that long i wonder?

Got mine fitted in, whoa.. what a job. It didn't take 5 mins as this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&hl=...p;v=15ght75I-mo shows. To be honest, I'm no good on diy, it took me at least 50 mins to finish one side, well the other side 15. Luckily I didn't break anything!
It wasn't as bright as our friends over the pond have, but I only paid 40 odd pounds, so as the old saying, you get what u paid for!

Hi Alex and welcome to the best E60 forum on the web. As to your question you may find you will get a quicker reply by posting it on the main forum as it is probably not something that is peculier to UK spec cars.
Sorry I cant be of more help with your query but I think you probaly will need some sort of installation disc and a visit to the dealer to update the software but I'm sure someone here will help you soon.

It should come with a dvd unless the last owner took it. The other advice is to buy one from main dealer, cost around 100 quid i think.
