when on, if you tap the turn signal stalk, the signal will blink three times instead of one, great for frequent fast lane changes

I may be a newby, but I can't find the option you refer to, or the lights section for that matter. Ehhm, what am i missing?

OK, found it.

Found out about the hidden menus as well. Most surprising: the difference between the load in both tanks (17 vs 26 liters).

I went into the hidden menus (not via the idrive, but via the reset button left of the speed dial - procedure for going there is easily found elsewhere in this forum). In one of the menus I found the measurements of both tanks and I was surprised to see that there was a large difference between them. My first guess would have been that they would drain synchronously.

Other interesting fact I found there: the 'real' mileage. The dealer set it to zero upon delivery, but my car apparently already had 4.2 kilometers on it by the time it got to the dealer

I don't think the dealer sets the mileage to zero -- it's unlikely that they would ever have the ability to easily tamper with that. What's more likely is that the odometer is installed with "negative" mileage so in your case, it may have had -4.2km on it when installed...
