I always get this when I am pulling away from T-Junctions, I assumed it was normal and changed my pull away style to suit, never seem to get this when pulling away and going straight ahead ? Its like having a huge elastic band between my throttle input and the transmission responding followed by a small but annoying jerk.

I think Bmw should do a recall for this issue and replace our transmission but it would be costly. I know they want to save money, but what if someone gets hurt in the long run there will be a class action lawsuit to follow since most of us have this problem do you guys not agree with me.

My Ride: 650 Grand Coupe
Model Year: 2016
The worst part is when you're on an incline, the car will actually roll backwards until it goes into gear. It's actually like the car goes into neutral when you come to a stop. I had mine in for the software update and it worked for about a week, then it came back. That's twice I've had it in for this. It's unacceptable as far as I'm concerned. I'll give them time to fix it, but if we get into the 4th attempt and there is still no resolution, I think NJ's lemon law might come into play.

My Ride: (USA) 645Ci, Silver Gray, Chateau, Cold Weather PKG, Premium Sound PKG, Sport PKG, Step, NAV [Std Equip in 645], HUD, Satellite (SIRIUS) Radio, Aux Input, Bluetooth enabled using iPhone 3GS w/ adapter cradle - Build date - 01/05, Baby delivered 2/24/05
You have a transmission control chip called EGS much like your DME that manages the engine. In fact they communicate with each other and often times the software update may be to both units. Software fixes to either or both would control shift points (up or down) at certain RPM, certain lateral accelerations (ABS sensor), braking force, hill holding, etc. It is a "managed" process and requires .
There are slams, clunks, bumps, etc that occur at different times/events for different issues/symptoms. I'll point to a couple here and let you sort out your own:

SUBJECT
E62, E70 with 6HP19TU - Transmission Clunks after Engine Start
MODEL
E60, E61 with N52K or N54 and 6HP19TU produced from 03/07 up to 09/08
E70 (X5 3.0) with N52K and 6HP19TU produced from 12/06 up to 10/08
SITUATION
The customer may complain about a clunking noise heard from the transmission, sometimes accompanied by a "bang", felt in the rear of the vehicle after engine start-up. This complaint can be intermittently reproduced when the transmission is in the P position (the noise and/or jolt does not occur when the selector gear is placed in N).
CAUSE
EGS software calibration in regards to the transmission self-check test on the engine start
SOLUTION
On a customer complaint basis only, check the vehicle's integration level.
If the integration level is:
On E60, E61 vehicles - E060-08-03-550 or lower
On E70 vehicles ? E070-08-05-525 or lower
Reprogram and recode the complete vehicle with a current Progman version (V31.1 or higher). The target integration levels are E060-08-09-520 or E070-08-09-520, respectively, for E60, E61 and E70 vehicles.

550i and 650i with N62TU and 6HP26 - Various Drivability Complaints
MODEL
E60, 550iA produced from 09/05 up to 02/07
E63, E64; 650i produced from 09/05 up to 09/07
SITUATION
The customer may complain about one or a combination of the following situations, listed below:
Intermittent harsh 4-3, 3-2 or 2-1 downshift (jolt) when coming to a stop with light brake application.
Jolts and/or jerks felt when reaccelerating after coasting.
Judder when gently accelerating (most noticeable at an engine speed below 2,000 RPM).
CAUSE
DME and EGS software calibration
SOLUTION
Program the vehicle with ISTA/P 2.33.0 or later, using the path "Conversion" and "Downshift behavior". After this modification, the k-word "HADS" will be added to the Vehicle Order.
Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.

SUBJECT
E9x, E6x with 6HP19TU - Jolt and Delay when Pulling Away
MODEL
E90, E92, E93 (335i) with N54 and 6HP19TU from 03/07
E60, E61 (535i) with N54 and 6HP19TU from 03/07
E60 (528i) with N52K and 6HP19TU from 03/07
SITUATION
The customer may complain of a delayed engagement and a harsh jolt when accelerating from a stop.
The situation occurs only during the engine warm-up phase (cold engine), and cannot be reproduced in the Sport Mode.
CAUSE
EGS software (unfavorable NIC ? Neutral Idle Control) calibration
SOLUTION
On a customer complaint basis only, check the vehicle's integration level.
If the integration level is:
On E9x vehicles - E89x-07-06-520 or lower
On E6x N54 vehicles - E060-07-09-530 or lower
On E60 N52K vehicles ? E060-08-03-550 or lower
Reprogram and recode the complete vehicle with a current Progman version (target levels are E89x-07-09-518; E060-08-03-510; and E060-08-09-520, respectively, for E9x, E6x N54 and E6x N52K vehicles).
Important Note:
The NIC (Neutral Idle Control) feature disengages the torque converter from the transmission when the vehicle is stationary in the Drive position; the service brakes are applied; and the engine is still in the warm-up phase. The NIC function eliminates engine load when vehicle is stopped, reducing fuel consumption.
Although the EGS software changes (as listed above) are improving transmission comfort feel while still providing the benefits of the NIC feature, they still may not be acceptable for the most discriminating customers.
In such a case, on a customer complaint basis only, deactivate the NIC function by performing the "Converter lockup clutch" retrofit, using the current Progman/ISTA P version.
WARRANTY INFORMATION
Covered under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

Hmmm number 2) SI B 24 03 09 Seems the closest but I have 545 that just before the start date. I'll need to chat to my service rep again.
