Hey guys,
I posted last week about cracking my transmission pan.
Ordered a new pan from pelicianparts.com
Almost 50% off from what the dealer wants.

My new problem is the transmission pan has a lable on it that says, lifetime oil, only change with BMW oil. I cant remember the part # right now.
Now my question is, can i replace the transmission oil with any oil i want and keep up with the maintaince with it?

Or would putting something different in there would really screw things up?

Also what about differential oil and engine oil?
What are some of you guys using out there?

Thanks,
Ravie

I change my transmission oil and filter 2 months ago with BMW oil.
I would not use any other oil than the bme 1.
unless you what to get a new gearbox which cost arm and a leg.
as for engine oil you can use any kind of make.
I have tryed 4 type right now

Engine oil.....ROYAL PURPLE all the way.......If you feel what Mobile 1 sythetic feels like, on one hand, adn then Royal Purple, on the other...BIG DIFFERENCE!...It's a litttle big more expensive than regular synthetic, but well worth it.
