Hi Guy's,

Just bought a 530d from a trader. Everything seems fine, awsome car!! One problem I do have though is that the ACC does not work.

If I push the lever back to activate it the car pings and idrive tells me that there is an ACC failure and to take it to the dealers for inspection. Does anyone know what the problem could be? What are the parts of the ACC which could fail?... obviously the radar itself but anything else?

P.S. It's 3.5 years old so no BMW warrenty!

Cheers,

Lee.

Well clearly something isn't right. Aside from making sure the radar lens (dome) is clean, have you checked the fuses? If you're lucky, there may be something blown like the fuse for the radar, etc.

If that isn't it, I'm afraid you might need some help from a dealer...

Please make sure it has original-Factory installed ACC ? I am not sure this car has ACC as the car is 3.5 year old ?
Call BMW customer service and give VIN-They may give some answer ??

ACC was offered on 2004 cars, it just didn't have the stop and go feature that the newer (LCI) cars have now...

It is factory installed yes but no stop and go function as Rudy states. Dome is clean and clear, I will check the fuse as it seems like a quick cheap thing to check, thanks for the tip. How will I know which fuse it is, is it written down anywhere?

Called the dealer and they want ?59 to plug it in to the diagnostics!!

Thanks,

Lee.

The owner's manual should tell you where to find the different fuse boxes and, you might find a listing of fuses inside the tool compartment in the trunk (boot) lid...
