Well the strange thing is that the ballasts were (supposedly) from UK specialist vendor ? when plugged in no dashboard errors or lights flickering occurred (no additional resistors were used).
But may be very well possible what John@Motorcepts says ? the car could already have had some issues and the HID conversion just added the last bit and showed the problems.
Nevertheless thanks for clearing up there shouldn?t be any direct connection. Was afraid of any ?anti HID? programming in the system causing electrical issues.

Thanks for the instructions. Do you think I should get also a spare pair of bulbs? Here in Europe we are required to have lights always on (DRL), I am afraid it might shorten the life-time (especially driving short distances in the city). I dont think I can use random bulbs (xenon hids though) as a replacement..
You can use any HID bulb as a replacement. As long as it connects to the ends of the ballast. But when I get light I always buy spares especially for install because you never know what could or will go wrong. Always remember when one goes out replace both because there will be a color difference between a used one and new one.

In fact, we've got HID bulbs on the site for as low as $20 for everything other than D2S and D1S.
