Hello All,
I purchased an 05 545i with 34K and I love it. The stepronic automatic has twice shifted in a very hard clunk during rolling stops. I took the car in for service last week and they said they opened a case file for me at BMW New Jersey and updated the car with the latest program updates. The navigation screen looks great with the upgraded program however the car did the same hard shift the same day I picked it up from the dealer. Any suggestions?
I am tacking the car back to the dealer next week.

Try the search feature and type in "slam". I think there is a software update that is suppose to cure the problem you describe. I'm sure someone will chime in momentarily with the exact service bulletin. Good Luck

Thank you so much for the attached information. I'll try the fix tonight and let you all know if there is a difference.

Thank you. I did the reset with the ignition and the car now shift like a BMW. The hesitation and delay in up-shifts is gone. Tried many rolling stops and there is no clunk. I might even cancel my dealer visit next week.
