Test drove the car with the shop foreman last Thursday who claimed the acceleration and shifting after the transmission update were normal. I told him I did not agree and that the car performs completely different than before. After having the regional BMW representative inspect and test drive the car this Tuesday, the BMW rep agreed the car is performing normally. I will pick up my car today.

I am very frustrated as to how the dealer and BMW handled this situation. Other other than trading the car in and buying another, which will definitely not be a BMW, I am not sure what more I can do about it at this point. BMW has now lost this loyal customer of over 10 years.

Any comments or recommendations would be appreciated.

Resetting adaptations will cause the transmission to shift 'differently' for quite some time. It usually resolves itself after 100 miles or so. What issues are you experiencing? Have you had the transmission go into 'failsafe' mode again?

ZF transmissions are total weaksauce IMO. Always have been, always will be.
