Default Trailing arm bushings and suspension refresh

All,

Lately I started to observe that the rear is starting to grip less and is wobbly. I jacked up the car on all 4 sides and let the wheels hang in the air.

I saw that all suspension components in the rear is junk. So I have bought all new shocks & struts, bellows, mounts, and all bushings that go in the rear.

We need a special tool to press out the bushings and to install the new ones. Finding a tool kit that will do all is a pain and expensive.

So I have decided to give out the detailed drawings so you can make all the tools yourself.

The bushings I will be replacing are -

1. Rear ball joint

2. Trailing arm bushings ( there are 2 bushings, one has a smaller cut and the other one looks like a pacman. These need special tools to compress to be able to install.

3. Differential bushings ( 3 total, 2 in the front and 1 in the rear )

I want to replace the subframe bushings too, but I am not sure about the part numbers. Realoem calls out all 4 bushings as same part number but FCP euro has 2 different part numbers. So I have decided to leave it as it is.

I have attached some pictures as a reference now. I will update the thread once I have all the tools made and tested.

If anyone has any advice or suggestions please let me know.

TIA

As promised attached is the complete drawing for all the parts you need to do the bushings on your E60.
Feel free to modify it your needs and update here if you find that changing something helps the process.

Along with all this you will need 1/2 inch fine thread nut and bolt and washer to spread the load evenly.

Enjoy..!!
