My Ride: 2005 545i Sport, Premium, Logic 7, Jet Black, Black Leather, M-Aero Kit, 15% (very dark) Tint, Eichbach Lowering Springs, Red Brake Calipers, Radenergie R-10's, Michelin PilotSport2 in 245/35/20 and 285/30/20, Rolled Fenders, and a nifty Graco Baby Car Seat.
Next Up: Xenon fogs, Eisemann Exhaust, iPod Interface, Comfort Seats.
I know it's nuts. I have a very hot '05 545i with rediculously expensive and beautiful wheels (Radenergie R10), M Aero Kit, etc. (pic shown), but I am considering trading it (plus cash) for a mint '03 911. And I mean mint.
My '05 has 27k miles, is black on black. The 911 (996 C2) has 15k miles, is black on black.
What do you think?
-It will be my daily driver
-I have a 45 minute commute (each way)
-I have a 550i sport (TiSilver) as a backup, which I can put the R-10's on (wife's car, although she's loathe to drive the 911 6 speed)
-I have a 1 year old son (they do make a great rear car seat)
-I rarely ever even have 1 passenger (less than once per week)
I want people to look when I go by. I want to really enjoy the curves.

I would keep the 545. If it was between those two... but since your wife has a 550 and she would also like to drive the C2 every so often Go for it. throw in some variety.

Go with the 911 since your wife has a 550i as well. Swap all the mods from your 545i to your wife's 550i. You won't even know you traded in your 545i
