There can think of a few plausible of explainations for why your vehicle is stuck at VPC.

1. Did you order something special that is holding it at the VPC? They maybe missing the parts.

2. Your vehicle was damaged during shipping and is being repaired. Let hope this is not what is the reason

3. The vehicle did not pass the VPC inspection and is waiting parts to repair the issue.

4. Yours is stuck due to the strut/shock recall. They don't have any parts.

You should contact your dealer and have them look into it. It has been my experience normal processing through the VPC takes only a couple of days.

Good Luck.

Glad to hear it is none of the reasons I thought of. I heard someone earlier complaining that they live in NJ and car was brought into SC. Took a few extra days by truck to get to them. A strike sounds like a plausible explaination for why yours is stuck. Sorry to hear that. The waiting must be difficult since it is so close.

I heard there was a recall for all 5 series right now and are all stuck at the VDC. I just read this on another thread here. No concrete source.

The ship that my 550's isn't at the port yet either its almost 2 weeks late and the GM at my dealership called BMW and he informed me that the port is on strike here in California too. Could this be true? Can anyone confirm this?

I read a detailed post on another site from a dealer confirming that E60's are being held back at port due to a recall on suspension components. Apparently at one point, there were over 1000 cars in backlog at the NJ VPC. Apparently BMW AG sent techs over from Germany to help get the cars out of the VPC and moving.

This could lead to major delays if the ships cannot get off loaded and return to Europe to pick up more cars in the que. My car is sitting at the port of export waiting for a ship. I wonder who has information on this? Guess I will call my dealer and BMW NA to see if they know anything.
