My Ride: 2007 550i
My 550 is at the dealer as the I drive was freezing. They reprogrammed it and after doing that they are saying the right rear TPMS is saying the tire is low although they have put enough air in it.
I have 20" VIP Modulars on the car and i have never had one problem with the TPMS until i took it to the dealer for the reprogramming.
Does anyone know whether the reprogramming had any affect on the sensors initializing? They are saying that since the wheels are non BMW the sensor is not covered under warranty. I am still below the 50k miles for factory warranty.
I am hoping it is just a reprogramming error.

Following another thread on TPMS, it appears that 2010 vehicles may have had changes to the TMPS which could require programming to recognize the modules - possibly they missed this step when reprogramming your car (not sure what year yours is from the post/sig)? If so, you might have a case to argue this is still covered under the current warranty fix for the iDrive.
While it's frustrating that you had no issues prior to the reprogramming, if the TPMS sensor is non-OEM (vs the wheel, which really shouldn't matter) I can see BMW saying it's not covered under warranty - only that they would be hard-pressed to be held responsible for a software update's interaction with non-OEM equipment (they can't test everything). If the sensor is OEM, then you may still have an argument to have it fixed. As the previous poster suggested, try resetting the TPMS in iDrive. After that, consider a call to the shop that supplied the aftermarket wheels with TMPS (or the installer) - you might have some luck going that route if there is warranty on the sensor(s).
Hope it all works out for you!

Thanks. The car is still at the dealer. The TPMS are OEM and my car is an 07.
They are saying if the sensors are incorrectly installed they are not covered under warranty. Hopefully a reset works.

I may be totally off here, but isn't there a difference in systems for pre-08 cars (direct vs indirect)? Meaning the current TPMS system sanctioned by NHTSA wasn't introduced as standard until 2007 for implementation on all 2008 models. Prior to that standard, manufactures used a variety of different systems and technologies. Maybe the iDrive software upgrade you received conflicts with the 2007 TPMS system? You'd think a dealer wouldn't make that mistake if it were the case.. but then again.. you never know...

They are trying to say that the TPMS may be defective and if so i would have to pay for a new one as it is not in an OEM wheel. I am going to refuse to pay as everything was working fine before i took it to the dealer.
