TPM Malfunction, SOS Call System Malfunction
So over the weekend I had 7 cans of redbull emptied into a bottle and it was sitting in my trunk. Sometime overnight due to the fizz the bottle opened up and all the redbull spilled inside my trunk :-( (I know this was really stupid of me to leave redbull in a bottle in the trunk). Next day I got the light on my car saying TPM malfunction. When I checked the trunk it didnt seem bad at all..I could just smell the red bull.
While driving the car I have a USB/Audio cable connected to my phone that place music via Idrive and I started hearing a hissing sound on the stereo while accelerating.
After two days I got my car and especially the trunk cleaned. On this day while driving I got an error saying SOS call system Malfunctioned. My music stopped working and so did the bluetooth.
Not sure what to do now? Is there anything I can do before taking this to the dealer? Can I get some codes checked somewhere that might give me insight on any problems?
All help is appreciated..and yes you can make fun of me for leaving redbull in the trunk!!

Look at the electronics that sit in the spare tire. Most likely the stuff has entered these modules. You'll need to take them apart and clean them up. Some might be fried.

I somehow hit my key fob while at a restaurant on a rainy day and by the time a waiter said the trunk lid of a black bmw was open it had rained a Lil in my trunk 2 days later my tpm light came on and display was tripping so I asked questions on bimmer fest and they all said I had water in the spare tire area and sure enough I did I dried it out and everything was fine except my tpm module. I disconnected it and opened it and it was damp and I was told to put it in a bowl of dry rice to suck out the moisture I guess I waited to long because it didn't work. Well the dealer wants $300 for the part but I see them on ebay for $75 and up. But it's probably your tpm module.... the Lil white box. Well its white in my 07 550i

Thanks for the quick response @twh and @star69me. I am not too good with doing all this stuff myself. Do you think if I take it to a garage they might work on something like this instead of just trying to replace the parts?
@twh I was reading about the TCU module controlling the iDrive system..does that just need to be cleaned or will I need to replace it?

BMW dealer will just replace and it will cost you big money. Independent garage might try to clean it, might not. Many won't want to clean it and risk a call-back.
Have a look here...look for my post and the PDFs:

BMW eventually decided this wasn't the greatest place to put stuff.
I'd try and do it yourself first. Turn the car off and unplug the module and try to get the cover off and clean it. This is what I use for these cases:
05101 -- QD® Electronic Cleaner, 4.5 Wt Oz
You can get it at the local auto parts store.

The two modules that are damaged are your tpm module and your mulf module. When you replace them I recommend moving them out of the spare tire well and relocating them to the left rear trunk compartment

@TWH..after cleaning the devices do I need to do anything else to the car other than just plug it back in? As in reset something from iDrive?
Uf I purchase a working used module from someone else and replace it, I read somewhere that I might need to code it. If that is true, how can I do that? Or is it as simple as plug and play?

After cleaning, just plug them back in. Not 100% sure, but I don't think anything needs to be reinitialized.
