It sounds like BMW ought to do a RECALL on this issue to fix a design defect. The module should have never been located on the floor of the spare wheel well.

A little over a year ago I was driving my car to my dealer for an oil change when my TPM went off on the Idrive and all four tires were yellow (as I recall). Since I was 5 miles from the dealer I just told them to look into it. Turns out I had water in my trunk, and the module controlling the TPM was fried. They moved the module up to the side of the trunk near the fuse panel bolting it with a special plastic clip. They replaced the entire trunk lid seal, and they put the sticker on my tool box indicating I shouldnt pour water in the trunk (duh). All covered under warranty. They mentioned that they were not sure it was the trunk lid seal, however that it had been the primary cause thay had been experiencing from other vehicles with this issue. I haven't had a problem since. Why they put the modules on the floor of the trunk is beyond me.

Where can i find the service memo sent to the dealers to have them check for this problem. I drove my 535xi touring in a rain storm. The next day all of the electronic senors and modules in the truck shorted out due to the amount of water.
