Hi all!

I own 06 BMW 550 MT with 2700 miles. I have a question about top speed limiter. I went about 157 mph on the car yesterday and it seemed not to hit any limiter. I thought the limiter was supposed to be at 150 mph. Another question, even when my car is fully warmed up I still have about 4 tick marks left starting at 6200 rpms and ending at 6500 red line on the tack. I thought it would go away after I will pass the break in period but the tick marks are still there. Can anybody tell me what are they for, and why won't they fully go away? Any info is appreciated, thanx in advance.

 

As far as the maximum speed limiter, I think it's set to 155 mph so your indicated 157 would be close given the speedometer error. It's likely that you had a few more miles per hour to go since I think the speedo's error is a percentage of the speed (the faster you go, the larger the error.)
