Yeah of course u'll not try to top speed the car on bad roads, or dangerous roads but given a rather empty highway u can try that. Anyuway my question is: can't we get the speed indicators from tuners for e60? to allow a higher top speed?

First of all, welcome!
Wow it's seriously quick. Is it standard? Any mods? I ask because i NEVER drove an e60 and my 535d is on the way. Wow...so the 535d must be a bit faster even then a 530d (ignoring the limiter). I know from my own experience the limiter has it's breaches and allows you from time to time to go a bit faster than the limit. T
That's why i ask if there's a way to change the tachometer, speed dials to a higher marked ones. Maybe from hamann or ac schnitzer or smth?!?
Any of you guys know smth about this?

Regards, Andrew

I read somewhere that in the E39 M5 you could hit 155mph in 5th then change up to 6th and it would go way over the limiter. (Or 4th then 5th if only five speed box)
Might work in 545i manual.

Yeah, well, I don't really want to go over my 120mph limit, 'cause of that stupid whistling noise from my windshield that the dealer won't fix! Besides, I'm going home right now to do my traffice school on line!!!

No speed limiters on Porsches. I did a ED on my '01 330i and was completely bummed to hit the limiter at 134 on the Autobahn.

Yep like I said...I hit 155mph in 5th gear at 5000RPM.....should there be no limiter...i would still have 1500rpm in fifth and the whole of 6th gear to play around with, and I'm guessing I would be able to surpass the 170 mph mark....175 maybe????? thats what im curious to find out.....i'm addicted to speed....
