I love the 335! That was my original choice of vehicle, but when I got in the 535 and test drove it I quickly changed my mind. The space is key for me, and I like having 4 doors! The E60 styling is a lot nicer to look at too.. but I have to say.. If I wasn't 6"2 265lbs I probably would have went with the 335. 25k cheaper then my 535 and a little faster too!

So, it's my birthday and I wanted to joy ride in my dealers M3 but it wasn't available. So I took a 335i with manual 6 speed/sport/premium/yadda yadda out for a spin on the autoban with a coworker at lunch. My first impression was, "wow, this is small inside." It was tight and sporty. I got it on the road and noticed the power immediately. Once on the autoban, I was doing ~110 MPH and was still on 5th gear. I stretched it to 150 before I had to slow down for traffic. Compared to my '07 525, it had lots of power. It seemed to have excess power available no matter what gear I was in or what speed I was going. When I got back, the dealer told me it was governed at 154 MPH and gave me a little crap for only getting to 150 MPH!
All in all, I am glad I got the e60. I really like the space compared to the 335i sedan. I supposed I would get used to the smaller size, but I enjoy the bigger car. I do like the power, but in the states, I don't think you would ever see 6th gear in normal driving. It was fun, maybe I will find a 535i to trade for before going back to the states in Dec 2010....Hmmmm...
Now, I have to thank my dealer. Not many dealers would let you take out a $40K car knowing you were only going for a birthday joy ride on the autoban at 150MPH!

With respect to the size of the 3er, I'm glad they make 3/4 scale cars for 3/4 scale people like me. :-)
I love the turbo motor and I'm taking notes for my one month retrospective on my 335i, which I will post in a couple of weeks.
I'm also very much looking forward to when the twin turbo V8 appears in the 5er...

Not quite. He (I'm assuming from his location) is military, and they pay the same on base as what we pay here in the States. Ask me how I know.

How fast have you had your 525i?
When I first bought it, I would take it to 150 at least once a day becuase I could. The gas just doesn't go as far at that speed though
It is nice to be able to take a road trip and AVERAGE 90 MPH though!

Did the same as wacopolumbo in April '07.
The car felt small but the engine was great, fast and torqing.
But what would I do with it in the city?

That does sound like a cool dealer. Mine called when the M3 sedan arrived and invited me for a spin, since i had been asking about it for 6 months. I liked the M3 a lot, but wondered if I would miss the space of the E60...
