Took a 335 for a spin today

The 335i is an amazing car. My local BMW dealer invited me for a thorough test drive a few months back when they finally got a test drive vehicle. It was awesome and during the ride, I even got myself a ticket for speeding! I even debated at length over whether I should get a 335i or the E60 I have on order now. Even now, I sometimes think I should change my order. BTW, the only BMW in Korea with the N54 twin turbo engine is the 335i M Sport. Anyhow, glad that you had an entertaining drive on your birthday! Hope your day turned out to be a good one!

Not sure how it works in NJ, but here in SoCal, each dealer is responsible for their own fleet of loaners. I've had one dealer that had a VERY small selection and when those were gone, they sent us over to Enterprise Rent a Car. My current dealer has 328 and 335 sedans and coupes, E60s, Z4, X3, and X5's.

I realize loaners are a courtesy, but you drive in with a 545 (that you got at that dealership?) and they give you a 328 loaner? My dealership always gives what you drive or better. I usually get the X5 and it's a nice change.

I brought my 550i in for "service due" and I was given a 335 loaner. Maybe I didn't keep on the gas long enough for the turbos to spool up but it did not have the acceleration of the V8. And, as stated earlier, it was small. Did BMW do away with the iDrive in these cars?

The 335 is an awesome car, I really love the Coupe.
IMO, it's much more tossable than an E60, but at the expense of space, comfort and luxury too.
When I was in my 30's the 3'er was just perfect. Now I find it claustrophobic sitting in one. Not a bad car, but my needs are better met with the 5'er. Guess that's why they offer both?!
