To everyone sharing their issues, resolutions and excitement,
I recently upgraded to a 2004 530i (everything but NAV) from a 2001 330Ci due to a recent addition to our family. With the help of your posts I was able to identify all of the potential problems and recently had my car in the shop to cure the creaky doors/windows, rear seat noise, etc... This forum is a valuable resource.

Orient Blue with tan interior, sport package, premium package, cold weather package, nav prep. I was reluctant to buy a larger car with the same engine as my 330 but I'm impressed with the abilities so far.

 

ya it is surprising but the weight I believe depending on your 330 year-the 530 may even be lighter-not sure what year you had but the last 06 330 only weighed 150 pounds less than a 06 530-they really built the car out of aluminum and kept weight down so if your engines are the same you shouldnt notice much of a performance difference at all

 

I think you have it backwards. The E60 is heavier than an E46.

For example, the '08 535 weighs 375 lbs. more than my '05 330i.
