Hey can anyone help me on explaining what's a Tank Venting valve? My car was originally brought into the stealer for a white smoking problem, and the stealer called me today and said it was the Tank Venting Valve that was causing the vehicle to smoke. Could this be true? Thanks In Advance!

Oh and they want 400 bucks to repair it! Jezzz

The tank vent valve is usually the valve that allows the fuel vapors from the carbon canister into the intake to be burned. I doubt it could cause white smoke. White smoke usually means your car is burning coolant. Is the coolant level low? When do you get the white smoke?

It smoked after a complete stop, but its all fixed now no more smoke. I guess it was the venting valve.

Im sorry..the reason I asked is due to the fact that my 04 545 has been smoking lately. After the car sits at idle, if I rev it up it will smoke out and then eventually go away. Just curious if that was the same problem. To be honest though it is not a consistent problem. If you have had the same problems please inform me what is it you have had changed and let me ask my indy shop about it. Thanks

Yeah bro the car would smoke out; check to see if it has oil, and use the dip stick to check the oil level.
