I'm a newbie, but had similar experience about two weeks ago, driving through H.B., CA.
It was soooo ironic because our cars were almost identically set-up.? We both had the same silver gray 545, aftermarket wheels and tires, although I had chrome to his polished silver, red reflectors, I could not make out his interior, but mine is gray dakota with athracite trim, we even had the same "whalestail" CA vanity plates, albeit with different wording.? It was too weird almost twilight zone feeling.? I finally caught up and was next to him at a stop light, looked over to acknowledge and compliment him, but he would not look in my direction.? He was on his cell,? but I know he had to have noticed my 545.?
I was ready to pull over and spend time comparing notes on our machines but it was not to be.? I'm still ga ga over how similar our 545's were set-up.? BTW he was younger than I but I'm told I don't show my age, plus I'm still a HUGE car fanatic at age 52.

[/quote]Will do. I live in B.P. near Knotts and to avoid 405 parking lot, I ususlly take Talbert over from the office near John Wayne. So I'm sure I'll see you one day. Hey you didn't happen to make that "meetngreet" this past Sunday did you? I had Angels tickets so I had to miss it.

When my car was like 2 months old, I followed a 530 into a parking garage, and parked right near him. I complimented him on his car. He said "But you bought the 545. That car's a rocket ship." I had to agree.
I usually ogle another E60 as obviously as I can, to see whether the other driver will reciprocate.

That was the best part of owning a vette, the wave! Made you feel like part of a community. Guys would post if someone didn't and everyone would be shocked. There were "save the wave" stickers. I've seen dozens of E60's on the road and never have had any acknowledgement from any of the drivers. I always look, kinda force of habit but I've never seen anyone look over and nod or wave at all. I agree with the poster here, a little acknowledgement is nice. It just says I like cars and I especially like the E60! It's kinda like saying hello!
