this is a mistery to me:in my old E39 540i sunroof as well as windows would still be operational after key is out of ignition lock and doors are not opened(which was very convienient),now in E60 it is not the case-windows can be operated but not the sunroof, although in the manual it is stated otherwise(i.e.sunroof as well as windows are operational). Is it a new undiscovered software bug or it is done with some purpose?

Same here in my 2005 545i (built 11/04). I noticed it immediately as I always used to close my sunroof in my e46 with the key out. Wondering if the latest e60's (e.g., later software versions) have it?

Mine 545i was built in September 04. The sunroof is not operational right after the removal of car key. Windows will work, but not the sunroof. I will let my SA know on my next service

Sunroofs don't close after key removal (ignition turn-off actually) for cars in North America. I think there is a thread somewhere. Don't remember the logic behind it but BMW's position was something like - gee, that's too bad.
