I forgot the source... But I remember I've read somewhere that the 6th is an ECO 5th. So it's the same as the 5th but more economically.
So, driving in DS means you are not interested in economy, you want to drive it sporty. Therefore it does make sense that the 6th is not used when you are in DS - you can allways select D and then you get the 6th, pushing the lever back to DS gives you the 5th again.
Makes sense for me...

Me too I always drive with the DSmode I find the car more alert more responsive I guess it's also because I have the 2.2 litre engine. But I'am very happy with the way the car drives.

Especially in a small island like CYPRUS you don't really need a bigger engine (above 2.4 litres our taxes are also very very high) The 530i for example is twice the price of the 520i.
