Just in case it doesnt turn out to be the rotor, it can also be steering arm bush. These cheap rubber bush can wear out creating a gap that causes the steering to jitter while breaking...
if its the bushing, it would vibrate at all times - not just under braking. If it vibrates only under braking, it can only be a warped rotor(s).

GL fixing it - let us know how it goes.

I think I know what is causing this problem, possibly the rotors?

Did anyone mention it's probably the rotors?

Ours is doing the same thing...

I had that happen to me on a new car (less than 12,000 miles on it) and it wasn't covered by warranty.

$80 later, I had two new rotors, and a lifetime warranty from Meineke, and no more steering wheel shake on light braking.

That should be covered, so no out of pocket expense should be incurred.
I'm pretty sure brake rotors are excluded from CPO coverage, as are most suspension parts. They may cover it out of good will given the mileage.

It's obviously the rotors... , but in the old days (E34) we used to get a shimmy under light braking due to worn suspension bushings, specifically from the front thrust-arm (upper control arm) bushings.

I really am not sure about the current geometry used by BMW and whether our cars are nearly as susceptible to this particular wear item, but I'd also think that if it were the rotors, you'd feel it at all speeds, and under heavy braking as well as light. Classic thrust arm bushing issues were a shimmy under light braking at 40-50mph. Good luck!

+1. this is the logical cause of the vibration, for sure.

Yup it was rotors. They replaced rotors and pads for the goose egg. Said before i bought the car they did pads becasue of a noise and did not do rotors. I think the rotors we junk before I bought car and after pads wore in the shaking started. "Irregardless, Nomars in my cellar"

Really? Rotors?? You have to be kidding, right? Who'd of thunk it...

Glad you're back to normal and glad it didn't cost you anything!

Very true. With the current geometry the car develops a slight pull and you start getting steering error messages. When the bushing completely fails you get a hard thud when ever you hit a speed bump or brake moderately. Ask me ow i know
