It's rather strange you're missing this ring trim. According to ETK and TIS it's one piece (the switch)
the ring does not belong to the dashboard trim assembly.

start/stop switch part no. is 61 31 9 110 359

Attachment 51363
Do you know if the surrounding ring is detachable from the 'left-hand drive' version of the start/stop switch or if it is part of the actual switch?

Surely there must be a company out there that makes some kind of surround for the UK car's? I can't believe the UK / right-hand drive cars have the surround missing - really poor IMHO as it looks nowhere near as 'finished-off' and 'special' as the left-hand drive cars!
There is, I've seen them on eBay but they tend to be Chrome rather than Brushed Steel finish. This is one of those parts that is very different between RHD and LHD.

Do you know how they fit, because the dashboard is recessed and the button sits flush with the bottom of the recess?
This is different to the right hand drives, as the steel ring seems to fit proud of the dash and the button flush with the ring.

Thanks for this Bruce. Could you point me in the right direction on eBay please - i.e. what to search under etc. I've had a quick search but with no luck yet!

Cheers.

The Chromes have not turned up on ebay lately but maybe this catches your fancy.
