I noticed the Start Button on my 535i stays lit. The car has not been driven in over a week and when i opened the door the car made all the normal sounds of waking up. Does anyone know if this button is supposed to stay lit?

when you open the door it should stay lit, turns on again when you insert your fob...
so are you saying that after you pull your key fob out, exit the car, close the car door and lock the vehicle via key fob that start button still stays on?

Yes, it remains lit even after the car is locked and the fob is not in the car. I should have also mentioned that I have Comfort Access so I rarely insert the fob.

definitely might want to post some specs in your prof or sig regarding your e60 as it helps answer q's...or if you don't mind typing it everytime then u're good...

The button will stay lit for ~15 min. It's normal.

Exactly. My old 550 didn't have Comfort Access and my M5 does. Both cars act the same way. After ~15 min. of inactivity (no doors opening or pressing buttons on the key fob), the car enters its 'sleep mode' and the light on the starter button goes out.
