Squirming over white lines?
I think its a chracteristic of BMW suspension/tyres. When I had my first E39 I noticed on the motorway it would rock gently from side to side due to the fine tuning of the all aluminium suspension. Not so bad on the E60 but still apparent. Run flats and sports suspension are the perfect ingredients for tramlining. I agree with ColeJl in terms of sometimes the ride is perfect but then it feels lousy. Drive another car and the E60 feels truly magnificent.
err if any of the above makes sense!

Stepping out of my wife's 1.4 Polo the difference is rather noticeable on all fronts - power, ride, steering, handling, space - I think you get the idea!?

You may be experiencing tramlining.? Some tires seem to suddenly wiggle over a paint strip, a seam or grove in the road.? My Bridgestone Potenza SO-3s are particularly adept at this trick.?
? But when I put on my winter tires (Blizzaks) there is no tramlining at all.? So, it isn't the car, it's the rubber.

One thing is tire brand but for sure, the wider and lower the tire is, the more sensible it is to ridges in the road etc.
