I want to change my steering wheel from the regular one to the sports steering wheel (the one with the metal trim, smaller radius, and thicker grip.)
Dealer says it will cost $800
But Serivce says that the airbag will also need to be changed? I kinda don't beleive him . Can anyone confirm this please?
He says the airbag replacement will cost me $1066
a total of $1866 for the whole thing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have to change the complete steering wheel (including airbag).
When ordering the car with the sport steering wheel it was an extra 100 EUR.
Check the prices again, maybe in another country near.

I guess I should have orderd my car instead of just buying it, i would have had a lot of things change. But then the car would have been much more expensive.
Tuga: can you please have a look at my BT issue posted here and give me your opinion on it, or maybe even ask your dealer he might have something else to say.

I believe the complete steering wheel comes with the airbag. When you change it out, the you give up your old airbag for the new one. I am sure that the airbags are similar and I believe that they only contain the squib and the bag itself, not the electronics that actually activate (blow) the airbag. That price seems outrageous and I would have service re-evaluate his response.

I think i might do that, it makes more sense now that you explained it this way.
I remember back in 97 a friend of mine changed the steering wheel to his 730 and it didn't involve the airbag.
