To me this would be the crapest feature ever! What would you do if there was someone sitting behind you who had long legs?
Wait until he has left the car before you jump out. Or just have the function deactivated by the deaer in the settings the dealer can enter). Wouldn't that be a solution ?

I think it would be nice to have the option configurable through the iDrive. It might suit some more than others.

I don't think my children would be too chuffed if my seat started reversing into their legs before I got out to open their door - child locks!

*smartass mode on*
You can open the doors with the central locking button (under the hazzards button)...
*smartass mode off*

Child locks are indeed a good argument, but if it would be possible to have it activated or deactivated, by dealer or, even better, through idrive...?!

I really don't find it necessary for the seat to retract... but I have the standard seats. Maybe if the comfort and sport seat lower leg support would retract???...

OMG,

For does that are concern about safety, please visit a MB dealer or some other car dealer and check out the option before you dismiss it.

For example on the MB C-class (very small car) the seat retracts back for easy entry/exit (programable). It does not retract all the way back, it's just enought to make it easier to get out. No legs are choped or children crushed

For does that sit far back this is not a problem but for my wife who sits forward so she can reach clutch, break, and gas it's a nice option. Sometimes here in NY you park close to another car and can't open the door much making it tougher to get out when the seat is forward.

browellm - I verified that each of my keys has it's own 2 independent seat memory settings.
Iceman - I guess it's a version thing.

Mercy - unconfused (resumes drinking franziskaner)

Thanks !

Now that explains why we got a little confused in this thread, because we were talking about the same thing, doing different stuff, depending on the software version...

Thanks again !
