"A" simply means steptronic automatic tranny. Ask the dealer, or better yet call BMWNA and for a print out of the options on your car based on your VIN. This will clearly state that the car, based on you description, does not have the sports package. Then I talk directly to the sales manager about a full refund, based on the fraud (intentional or not). If you are not satisfied then it is time to threaten legal means. I would get the correct info on the car first and confront the dealer and try to resolve without lawyers invloved first as bringing in the legal eagles can drag out the process.
Did the car have a decal listing options such as the SP or did a salesperson simply tell you? If you have a print out from the dealer and can then prove the car does not have sports package, you have a pretty cut a dry case.
Now that I re-read your post, an official CPO car usually comes with a printed window decal much like the sticker on a new car, listing options etc. That should clearly label the options, at least I know they do it that way at my dealer. But again, call BMWNA or even go to another, "neutral" dealer and get the car printout based on the VIN.

Another bit of info to add: my paperwork lists the model: 545ia, the body: 545ia 4d. Maybe someone knows what the "4d" stands for.
When did you buy the car? Does the BMW website still show it as available?

Sometimes, recently sold CPO cars will still show up on the BMW website -- maybe even the dealer's website. If it's still showing up on either site, print everything out right away!

I have a 2006 550 with sports package purchased new. It has chrome trim and comfort seats, but thats the way i ordered it. Only sure way is to check for active stabilizer bars.

Could somebody please post a picture of what I should look for to see if I have active steering or active roll bars?
Just want to check that mine is indeed a SE as it has pretty much everything else that was standard on a sport model, even if the log book says SE, but thats easy to get changed in the UK.
