Spec changes from week 9 production

I think they are only available with the Sport Kit, is that available in South Africa?
If you are refering to the MSports Package, then yes - which is what I have ordered.

[/quote]I don't know if that's the same thing...here in Europe we have a Sport version of each model in the E60 range...it comes with the new front bumper, rear bumper and sills (similar to the M5). Does that sound like the M Sports Package? I know they have a Sport package in the US but that doesn't have the bodykit.

My Ride: E60
The hot keys for the Nav are MUCH needed. I hate all the scrolling necessary to get into "Map - Direction of Travel" (asside from using the voice commands). My last car (Boxster) had a map button and it would instantly remember what setting you like (map facing North or Direction of travel) and would just come on when pushing the button.

Damn man, to me it seems as though BMW did not prepare and rushed to put out the E60 thereby leaving I-drive to have numerous gremlins, the Navigation to be haphazardly thrown in and now replaced, the engines 525/530/545 shoehorned in only to be outdated by new muscle etc. All within a few months of it's debut.

Does anyone think the 3D functionality is software upgrade? Given that I had seen some Japan-spec E60s with 3D nav, I'm thinking it's software. Any thoughts?

There are going to be spec changes to E60's from week 9 production onwards.
Major change is new engines for all petrol models (except 545i), improved functionality for Professional Satnav (hot key's on left side of screen) including Perspective View (3D),updated traction control (DSC+), better quality interior trim and storage in places, new 19" wheels available as an option with the Sport models(Uk/Europe).
New Options from Week 9 Production:
633 Bluetooth telephone preparation with telematics function
4MF Active seat back rest adjustment
541 Active Cruise Control will be released to Sport models and 535d
Options deleted from Week 9 Production
206 SMG gearbox for 525i SE/Sport
638 Professional Telephone
This information comes from an excellent UK based website www.bm3w.co.uk (there is much more detail on the site) which is primarily for M3's but now covers other BMW models fairly comprehensively as well.
