The Premium Sound System is very good in my opinion. I have owned Audis and Mercedes with the upgraded stereo and the BMW Premium Sound w/ Logic 7 is far superior. It would be hard to turn to after market to match sound quality while integrating with IDrive and other control buttons.

SUGGESTION
Invest in a Performance Exhaust System. I think that you will find that an enhanced engine note is the best music to listen to.

I am more or less satisfied with the standard sound system for FM and CD. But the AM reception, like my previous BMW, is awful. Sometimes you gotta hear the news, traffic or weather so I need AM on occasion. I live 60 miles from New York City and have trouble pulling in 50,000 watt clear channel stations. My '87 325es has better AM reception.

Also, MP3 would have been nice, like they almost promised...
