I am very happy with the Logic 7, but am contemplating adding an amp (600 watt Diamond audio) and subwoofer ( 10" Diamond audio). I already own these as I had them in my previous car. That is the extent of audio upgrade that one can do, and I'm not sure it is worth the effort, and corresponding extra weight and trunk space reduction.

My Ride: '04 545iS 6 spd, bought new via eBay, 11/05; Blk/Gry, Cold, L7, PDC, BMW Rear seatcover for pets.
First "Bumwa" was a new 1971 2002. High performance 5s since 1987. Beamer motorcycles too, currently on an 07 BMW K1200 GT; also a Moto Guzzi 1000 SP III.
I'm not impressed with L7, when compared to the standard system that was in my E39 540iS. I expected a lot more than an equalizer. As for the "spacial" effects, I find that playing CDs of old music (Ella, Satch, etc.) sounds exactly the same on "concert hall" as it did on my old "standard" system. Only switching to the more intimate L7 "theater" setting did I hear any difference--sounded like monaural--and I didn't care for it.
I don't know what the standard E60 system sounds like, but with my ears and listening taste, this wasn't worth the $1500 for Hardon Karman.

Ray, the L7 sounds significantly better than the premium sound system from my 540. I am very satisfied with the L7 and price wise compared to the premium sound from the e39 it is worth it. Maybe I had a shitty system in the e39 or you have a shitty L7 in your e60 if that makes any sense.

Satisified by the L7. I would have liked larger subwoofers though. I want a bit more bass. Also there could have been more settings in the logic 7 room acoustics.

so HK is just great I fn luv it all the time and I bang da bass so I wud like to see more options like in Creative Soundblaster EAX but you know it is not the case it is a BMW not a pc...
I also bought a HK for my desktop it is only 2.1 but the bass is enormous and Ipod transparent design,
