sounds like you need to circle that parking lot the next few days, and keep out for a blue puegot.

+1 Perhaps the bad actor will return on one of the following Saturdays- he may be working in a nearby shop or picking up a son or daughter from a movie.

A sickening sight. Hope everything works (buffs) out for you.

<I went into town on Saturday...>
<...a blue Peugeot...>

How big is "Town"? Small enough to cruise around and find a blue Peugeot with silver paint on the side?

<...putting right somebody else?s poor driving.>

When you do, throw the book at them (but they will claim they were unaware of damage to either car).

<Do people have no morals these days?>

Your post has already answered this question.

try to compound most of it out. Then if you dont like the results, dont get touch up paint. get a spray and mask the surrounding areas. Lightly spray the damaged area. Then wet sand and compound again and then clear it.

Ouch. I feel your pain too. Had my other car, the 4Runner, serviced last year and while I was walking around my car did I notice like 4 small paint peels on my front bumper! I know for a fact that I do not or have not ever hit my car on anything, not even bushes or anything when parking. I made some conclusion of a neighbor's car being too close to mine one day and he probably pulled something out of his trunk and whatever that item was probably hit my bumper, thus causing the paint peel. I have no physical evidence that he did it so it's very hard to explain even though I have a strong feeling it came from that neighbor.

Anyways so to ease the sore eyes, I jacked out the $500 to get it repainted and voila, almost forgot that it happened lol.

Thanks Guys.

I haven?t had chance to get out there with the polish and compound yet to clean it up but it will look much better once I have.

It certainly could have been much worse if the bumper had been cracked or and of the lights damaged.

No point in going through my insurance as my excess is quite high and I will only get shafted with a higher premium next year.

I?ve considered staking the car park out put I just don?t have the time. It?s a big town and there are plenty of blue Peugeots in it so tracking them down and getting them to pay would be a nightmare. I just need to let it go and accept that there are plenty of scum bags out there who just don?t care.

I had some punks walk up the front of my car, onto the sunroof and walk ontop of my roof.. You can imagine how it feels to sit in your M and look up to see footprints on the sunroof... Scratched my hood too those punk asses

Shit happens..

Well, since it's not your fault, and you have evidence, I don't see how or why your premium would go up.

I have had incidents involving my other car, both hit and run, and my premium didn't go up when I went through insurance.
