most people keep the wheel nut tool in the boot - trunk - so all a thief needs to do is to open it, and no problem then to take the wheels off. Do people go to the trouble of removing the wheel nut tool from the car when they leave it........?

Hope you get them back and your drive isnt too expensive to repair.

When I had my rear boots swaped out by eTyres a few weeks back the tilt alarm went off when the car was only a few inches from the ground, they must have been really well co ordinated, as with others i'll keep my eye out on ebay but sadly you will probably never see them again.

Not that it's much of a good side, when you replace have a look at the 166's nice wheels, I had them on my 745 and can tell you they are a damned site easier to clean but still look amazing in 19' guise.

Good luck Bruce

Any clue as to how they jack the car up without the alarm going off? I remember when I tried to change the wheels myself it went off on me. The guys did know what they were doing.

So sorry to hear that about your ride, that definitely blows!!!! As for your question about the alarm since they went through the trouble of bypassing your wheel locks they are above average thieves, so my guess would be they jacked both sides of the car up at the same time so the car wouldnt tilt. No tilt, no alarm. Its interesting to me that you garage got broken into previously sounds like they targeted you specifically as well. I hate to admit it, but the tilt funtion on factory alarms are really a joke.

I hope they catch the "RAT BASTARDS" and they burn in hell!!!!

Wow, I am really really sorry to hear about this, Bruce.

Is this covered presumably by your insurance. Not that that can make up for the inconvenience, anger, upsetness, etc. of course.

My condolences, that totally sucks. I am in favor of capital punishment for anybody who rips me off.

Question: I lived in the UK as a kid, US citizen for years now, WTF is with petty crime in the UK? I have relatives in the midlands and they say there are almost are no "good" neighborhoods anymore.

I have lived in the US for 40 years, driving for 30. I live in the suburbs North of Boston, not the middle of no where, and even worked in Boston for years and I have never (knock on wood) had my car broken into or had my wheels stolen.

You Brits need to beat the F*** out of some these guys...

Sorry to hear about that Bruce. It really sucks. I hope you can catch at least one or two of them, and beat the Sh*t out of them. After that, then call the police and say he "fell".

Bruce ,really sorry to hear about your wheels , I'm really surprised theat the alaarm would'nt have been tripped. Recently we were on a ferry trip to visit friends . Half of the cars with alarms were blaring shortly after departure due to the motion of the ship........... I've got 172's for sale but I'm positive there is no economic benefit to you all the way from Vancouver. Hey I've got it ! come over and go skiing for a few days. We'll head up to Whistler have some fun, maybe a beer or 3 and send you home with some wheels in you suitcase !

In the meantime , sorry again !
