Since joining this forum I've noticed that members mention upgrade 15.1 or 14.9 etc. in messages and topics. I understand that BMW do updates from time to time but where do you find out what version you have personally? Is there a website that caters for this? And do you have to request an upgrade or do the dealers arrange it automatically? Lastly is it just a wide screen thing i.e. nav pro?

Request update only if You have problems or for some new installation e.g. aux input. And like Iceman says:"don't fix what is not broken!"

if you are willing to pay, you can request s/w update every time the new version has released. but most of us will tell the dealer some known s/w related problems and have them install the new, upated version under warranty .
