oil leak killed my alternator. Got alty replaced for $1k and they wanted 2 more to replace the alternator seal. I said no way and will be trading this POS...Had to vent...Loved it while she ran , but reliability sucks. I have had almost every gasket or seal replaced due to leaking....NO MORE. Farewell my friends!!

Does Replacing valve seal require removing the heads. I think it can be done just removing valve cover, camshaft, and pressurizing cylinder to get seals out. Lifters should be replaced If they are bad. If the valve guides are bad than you have to replace the heads. Timing needs to be adjusted after repaire is done. You do not have to remove manifold unless you going to replace that valley pan pipe as fad as I know

Yeah I believe the valve seals can be replaced, by pressurizing the cylinder. I would like to know if anybody has actually done it? How much time did it take?

I do not know how much it gonna cost but I was quoted by $400 just to replace the valve seals. That is after I remove valve caver and upper timing cover and put then back my own. I have a BMW tech who does the mobile service on weekends. I am guessing it gonna cost probable triple that amounts or more if done by the shop from start to finish
