Jochen,

State your opinion all you want to. This is the land of the free with some moderation, and urbo73 is a good guy, plus he just won a championship, so he may have been a little tipsy. I don't think he was attacking you at all, just being tongue and cheek. Don't take things so personally, and enjoy the board...including posting!!!

I've never tried a SMG E60. I'm sure it's great. Wounder why it's not available for the diesels, mayby not sporty enough. (the engine...)

Might as well bash anyone who bought anything less than the 545. Different options for different needs.

Now, that doesn't make ANY SENSE!! The Getrag 6 spd manual/SMG can handle much more power and torque than the GM ZF slush box. M630 are you serious or are you just being agreeable??

I actually read a similar story in some German car magazine a while ago - I thought the SMG is a standard gearbox with hydraulics fitted to it, so it does not make sense immediately. Its probably what the customer wants.

Btw., I am not looking down on non 545i owners. I had a 525i before for almost 5 years and had to save long and hard to be able to afford a 545i.
