Is this problem only happening with SMG ?

I think the shuddering so far is only with SMG or 6 speed manual if you cant drive it properly...
But Auto had its fair share of banging and rough shifting and throttle lag. I think its more or less fixed with software upgarde now... but if you're thinking that SMG is the only transmission with problems then thats not true. Actually there has been a safetly recall on the Autos already not being able to hold the car while in Park faulty plates or screws of some sort. On the other hand SMG hasnt had a recall yet.

My Ride: 2005 545i SMG. Titanium Grey with Grey interior and Anthracite wood.
I have had this problem in the past. Everytime I bring the car into service I say it is having problems that way I get the newest software upgrade. Currently, I am no longer have the downshift problem.

Like I was saying before this also happens quite frequently. I'll be driving and it will feel like a clunk and the car sounds like it stumbles for a second and then I loose my active steering.
