My Ride: 530i, titanium grey, beige Dacota leather upholstery, 17'' star spoke wheels (138), SMG gearbox, wood trim, bluetooth phone, voice control, xenon plus adaptive headlights, active steering, PDC, rear side airbags, auto-dim Internal and folding external mirrors, advanced auto aircon
It is obvious to every SMG user that the "sport" button significantly increases the response of the throttle. To me it looks like the torque gets higher.
Does anybody know the technical aspect of this "magic" button?

The biggest difference is the shifting.
With Sport Mode, the SMG shifts much quicker.
The throttle response is also quicker, but I don't know the technicals on how that happens.

Thanks for the post...I was wondering about that too. I thought by hitting the sport button along with better shifts something with the suspension was also being adjusted. When I'm driving 65+ on the freeway and go from sport to un-sport it feels like I hit a head wind all of a sudden.
