yesidid.. It's a new word I created . Did it about a month ago and I did feel some difference. This has been happening for a while now and it was brought into the light when one of the other members mentioned it. Now I'm starting to see it more frequently and I want to get it checked before it becomes a major problem.

Rick.
OIC, I just thought that perhaps there was a simple fix for this, sorry....I suppose a trip to the dealer is the right course of action then! Good Luck with it!

I'll let everyone know what the outcome is on Monday or Tuesday. I figure while the car is there I'll get an oil change (6400 miles) and check the balance on my wheels. I've got a little shimmy around 35 to 40. I just remembered my sales rep is holding the new navigation DVD for me, a free gift.

Thanks, Rick...

I hope it's not the hubcentric rings issue we talked about! You did install them, correct...and the fit was tight? If it turns out that they are perfectly balanced, this could be the culprit.

hey Dave....

I doubt it's the rings I put the wheels on myself for fear of the idiot installers we have around my neighborhood. It was kind of tight when I put the wheels on the hub. The real reason was that one of the wheels came with the weights in the wrong edge of the wheel. They put weights on the back of the outside part of the rims lip. ( A photo would definately clear that up)lolol.... Boy was I pissed. I wrote tirerack a nice e-mail and sent it to the sales rep, manager and customer service. Tirerack wrote me back and basically said they would pay for rebalancing.

Here is a photo:

I took it to mavis tire and I was nervous as hell as they balanced that one wheel. They still did it wrong.

Pissed off, Rick.....

I'll get them all done at BMW on monday and send them the damn bill.

It looks like maybe the weights peeled off at some point and got re-stuck back at that spot. I doubt anyone would do that on purpose! At least I hope not!

Dave if they peeled off in route to my house then they were not properly installed. What's going to happen when I go 80 miles an hour are they all going to fly off. Man I was so pissed because I wanted it done correctly by their company who knows about balancing and wheels. That's why I decided to buy the tire package so everything could come to my house ready for me to install.

I am guessing the wheels got really hot from sitting around in some truck and the glue got soft. The glue probably didn't have time to properly cure after they shipped them and something else got knocked into them to cause them to slide off...just a theory. Who knows? Those weights really shouldn't come off. But I doubt they left the original balancer with that strange setup.

You'll be fine after they re-do them. My CSL's came horribly balanced from VM when I got them, which also contributed to my vibration like yours. However, I had weights all over the damn place....175gm on one wheel alone that ended up with only 7.5gm after BMW re-spun it. Let us know how it works out.

I called my SA today and made an appointment to have my car checked on monday regarding that thump feeling when releasing the brake at a stop light. I explained that it feels like someone tapped you in the back bumper. I also experianced a sort of slam into gear type of sound or feeling when I turn on the car. It's happened about 3 or 4 times recently so I decided to get it check. I will give those concerned an update next week.

Rick...

ps. I forgot to mention that he remembers seeing a bullentin regarding this issue and it requires an update of the software and some other things. Will be better informed next week.

Any luck with this issue; I posted too and my 08 535xi goes in tomorrow (Wed). Does anyone have the link to the software update? Thanks Stephen (Toronto).
