No Icemann... I do believe you made the right decision at the time of your purchase. From What I am reading, it appears that there were some issues with the first yr E60 SMG tranny. You should have no regrets with your decision. What's right for me may not be for you. And in all fairness, the 6 speed steptronic has been proven reliable over time. You made the right decision IMO.

shouldn't you be sleeping by now

I took ED of my 545i with 6spd manual, think I'll try SMG next time.
