I was worried about this as well (my car only had 460 miles as of yesterday and was still showing 15,000 for the next service - note that I picked it up on 12/26/05!). However after a 130 mile drive, it now says 14,000 miles. So it counts down in 1000 mile increments at this point.

Hey, I'm just anal. I keep track of everything. I cut out about 90% of what was in that particular area of spreadsheet just to show that aspect of the CBS. I guess one of the things that got me going on this as well, was all the issues I found here on the forum. Just way too much going on with these cars to leave to my geezer memory.

I get it, just never thought of keeping track of the CBS stuff. It'd be nice if it did the OnStar trick where it emails you a status from the car.

So are you going to do some regression analysis to see what factors are correlated with the various CBS component trends? If you capture each driving session using one of the several OBD II tools you would have the data to reverse engineer the CBS algorithms. Right up your alley.

Ha Ha. Thought about it, but deceided that BMW needed to keep some of their engineering talent around and maybe get them seasoned for bigger and better things. But then again, maybe.........
