Hi guys, I got the seat belt and airbag light last week, but the last 2 times I drove the car it didn't come on.
Someone suggested the passenger seat mat is faulty so I tried pushing down onto the passenger seat, and yep, the warning lights come on.

So is it definately the mat starting to go bad? I guess its a seat out job to replace the mat?

Anyone had the same?

 

What year is the car? this is a recall on some and extented warranty on others for the passenger seat mat.

 

Its a 2006 530i.
My cars out of warranty unfortunately.

 

In the US there was a recall on the seat mat - it doesn't matter if your warranty had expired as it is a safety issue...

I just got mine erplaced under "warranty" even though my warranty expired. According to my SA, BMW extended the warranty for this issue to 100k miles.
